I suppose even under a top it's not that dark. Unless you're running at night! But I suppose cadence lock can only come from a light source on a optical device as that's the only sensor it uses for HR detection.

I have not, but if you use Express to update to 23.84 beta it'll revert your GPS from 6.60 to 5.50, which might help. Thanks @badger - that's interesting. If 23.84 is downgrading the GPS maybe that is a clue that they've uncovered something ...

unsliced the change log says Reverted GPS changes that potentially caused delays in acquiring a GPS fix and recording inaccurate position data. So I guess I was lucky!

So, it’s arrived. I’ve set it up and linked the Garmin stuff and have paired the Tikr to my Garmin. Am I right in thinking that if I disable wrist heart rate then it will automatically take the reading from the Tikr once connected?

Not sure about 3rd party straps, but if they work the same as a Garmin one, then you don't need to manually disable the optical - if it connects to the external strap it will automagically use that.

If it uses ANT+ you can also use the auxHR widget so it reads data from both wrist and external device to compare and contrast.

Your fetch upload would then only contain HR data from the in built device, but on Garmin connect you can graph both as overlays on one another.
