If you have not already done so, you'll need to download and install MotionBased Agent. It is the applet that runs locally to upload your data to the MotionBased db. Click on the support page for the link to download, and also for Agent support.

It's that bit that doesn't work.

BTW, do you pay the annual charge? It's about almost $100 per year!?!?

No, that doesn't seem to be a good value for the money. I am giving it a try using the free account. I haven't seen enough of an advantage to actually pay that subscription fee.

Here is a link to the Agent Help page.

I don't bother with Motion Based or the Garmin Training Centre. I just use SportTracks. It has all the functionality and more, than the other two put together, and its shareware so its up to you whether you want to make a donation or not.

Thanks Sweaty Frank I'll have a look at that.

plstanhope - I'll try SportTracks - does it do splits? My understanding of Motionbased is that you have to pay for splits.

Yes it does splits. After you have imported from your Garmin and look at the main page there is a box called summary. In the top right corner of this box is a little arrow. Just click on this and choose splits from the drop down menu.

I've been thinking (always dangerous), although the virtual partner is a nice feature, it lacks a certain urgency. I mean, although it reminds you to pick up the pace if you lag, it doesn't back it up with any real consequences. With this thought, and a little Photoshop, I have conceived of what might be the next level of sophistication in Garmin technology. WHat do you think?
