Hmm. Laptop doesn’t seem to find the USB connection to my Garmin Vivosmart, am I right thinking it should just show up in This PC when connected?

I think it's supposed to sweetpeas. Mine did earlier, then when I tried again later it took a bit of disconnecting and reconnecting to show up. I have a Mac though.

mine did sweetpeas although my antivirus scanned it before it would let me use it. might be worth temporarily switching yours off to see if that helps?

This ransomware attack on Garmin is really worrying.
I have a Vivoactive 3. Garmin Connect started crashing on my phone every time I went into it, so I rebooted my phone. The app ran and invited me to log in.... but then said it couldn't. Now I've confused myself about what my password is.
Stuffed, big time. I just hope my watch keeps working as a fitness tracker at least.
Anyone know if there's any way to export my activities to fetch right from my watch?

Rev -
1. connect your watch to laptop/PC by the charging cable. The watch should show as a drive in "This PC" in Windows Explorer. 2. In Fetch go to Train - Add Training - then click on FIT 3. Click "Choose File" and navigate to your device, then folder Garmin - Activity 4. Click on Date Modified column to sort in date order and choose the activity you want to load

My watch still seems to be working as a HRM, step counter etc, I might just leave the rest and take photo at the end of the day or something. I was getting way too obsessed with it anyway TBH!

As I mentioned a few pages back, there seems to be a gap in the market for a website/app that does what Garmin Connect does only ideally without needing the website to be up for it to work to any extent. I don't know whether this would be contravening something.

Not used Garmin Connect for a while. But did, via phone app. What does it do that say Fetch or strava doesn't? It seems to the casual observer that Fetch/Strava/Connect all do pretty much the same thing.

I've only had my latest Garmin for as week, lol.
Saint - Do you mean take stuff via bluetooth (or other means) direct from phone? Pretty sure Garmin wouldn't allow that. Servers would need to be up to do what Garmin Connect do anyway (can't see how you send stuff to other sites without them) so they'd fail in the same way to an attack if they got caught by one.
