Morning all, didn't we do well.
Obviously a bit less passion this morning, but after a slow start in the first 15 minutes we grew into the game and our pace, passing and creativity in the final third came through.
The defence looked solid and organised, and with a subs bench probably nobody else can match for talent and pace we should be confident against anybody.
The selection won't change much, and i don't think it should. Nobody played poorly, and there is probably more to come from half of them.
All positives i think. Bring it on.

Central Europe is way hotter and stickier than most people appreciate.

I seem to recall once we drew Iceland, we were final bound? This is what gets me. Also last World cup draw opened up, and Croatia aren't that good...
The Czechs win and I'm like the next game will be damn Denmark who are really bloody good team, and never mind we beat them 3-0 last time in 2004, because it will be a dingdong 50/50, and Dolberg looks good up front, and Damsgard looks like a handful and Maehle has had an outstanding tournament, and Schmichel is rock solid, we will be lucky to get past them.
England are like we beat Germany - that's the final done, that's it we thump Ukraine in the quarters, thump the Czechs (as obviously we aleady smashed them 1-0) or the Danes who we know are Danish and therefore not very good, and then in front of our home crowd we'll beat the Italians/Belgians who really aren't very big or important countries, while singing 10 German bombers (as fans were before last night's match). Expectations are already stupidly high. Anything less than a win in the final will puncture them.
Let's point out Germany drew 2-2 to qualify with Hungary, and did not deserve to, there was a bit of flapping from the Hungarian defence at the critical moment, otherwise they'd have hung on and Germany would have been out. Hungary are full of Bristol City, FC Dallas, Osijek and Paks players...
I thought last night the decision to keep Kane on and take Saka off was stupid, still do. Any striker (certainly Rashford) would have buried the second. But overall job done, move on to the next task.
The wartorn and politically volatile country of Ukraine has never reached the quarters before, look at Shevchenkos face when they won. This matters a great deal to them. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THEM.

Are you OK Chrisull?
I don't think anybody on here has that view, all the teams left in deserve to be there from their previous results, and whilst having nothing to fear doesn't mean there isn't any respect, and knowing we'll have to play at least as well every game to continue progressing.

I haven't heard any underestimation of Ukraine. They are dangerous and likely to tackle pretty hard which can disrupt any game

For a man whose not fan of sweeping generalisations Chrisull I find that post utter nonsense.
Yes there are some English dickheads trotting out that nonsense, as I’m sure there are Czech fans getting giddy after knocking out 10 man Netherlands.
If you’ve watched much of Rashford recently you’d know why we have signed an aging Cavani, and it’s because he rarely gets on the end of those chances. He is brilliant at running into space but just doesn’t have the off ball movement of Kane, as we saw when he made not a jot of difference against Scotland.
Kane involved in the first goal, scored the second, but yes, very stupid to leave him on.

I think you are actually the only person to say that we should ease past Ukraine Chrisull.

Before trotting out something about them being better than Iceland 5 years ago which bares no relevance at all apart from stating the obvious that any team can win a game of football.
