Baz, I've watched every minute Sterling has played since scoring a header against Arsenal around Christmas and he has been utter dog shit. You can't say he has done anything even average in that time.
However I thought, bar the howler of a pass, and a few runs that led down culdesac's he did alright yesterday.

It’s almost like some people are disappointed we went through because they’ve got to wait another round to say how shit we are.
Yesterday we had never beat the Germans in a tournament since 66 and had the worlds worst centre forward (despite being the PL’s top scorer).
Today we were lucky because Muller missed a chance even though we scored two.
Nobody is saying we are nailed on to win it, nobody is saying it was a world beating performance, I’m 50 years old and what happened last night has happened in my lifetime so I think I might just enjoy it for a few days rather than saying what might have been.
And Fenners, is that Ronaldo’s Portugal that Germany destroyed last week?

Sterling has been incredible. The defence looks very organised and strong. Show pony Jack has contributed. Kane who barely looked fit at the start has scored. Young Saka is the most exciting footballer I’ve seen in years

I don’t know why you watch it Fenners, his off the ball running yesterday was excellent and both him and Kane were dragging defenders everywhere to create space, Rice and Philips just didn’t take advantage in the first half but really started filling it in the last half hour.
