The green and yellow bugs have no impact at all on your score - except for the four points you score each time you run past one. If somebody else runs past one of your bugs ('your' red bugs will appear green on their map) then the head of your red bug will turn yellow meaning you'll lose more in penalties if it's still there at the end of the day - click on each bug to see how much it's going to cost you. If you can clear your circle of red (and any red&yellow) bugs, you'll be given a 200 point bonus at the end of the day.
