jelly, you have probably worked this out now, but it is worth going to the next corner/lamppost beyond the circle, to give you and GPS some room for error.

RRR-CAZ 🇬🇧 it’s just a jewel so no need to worry about leaving my circle, my dog walk didn’t take me back that way today because I spent too much time shopping!

Went all the way to an area where I usually don’t run to pick up a bug. Then forgot to put it outside my circle at the end of my run 😭 🤣

And the other one is at the other side of the circle in another area I usually don’t go so tomorrow I have a choice of where I freak out the neighbours with a suspicious new runner in the area - never mind I don’t know where the new third bug will pop up. Hopefully not on the golf course where I need to check if I am allowed onto it first.

If a bug (or jewel) spawns in an inaccessible spot you can mark it as such and it won’t appear there again. The bug will respawn immediately, the jewel however will not.

The definition of inaccessible is down to you. IMO a golf course (unless a public right of way) would be inaccessible. Similarly roads with no safe pedestrian path.

I'm new to this and have what is probably a stupid question to ask....how exactly do you squish bugs? Does your run have to end outside your circle? I'm suspecting that as my runs generally start and end in my circle that I run past the bugs and don't squish them even when I go out of the circle as I end the run inside it?

No, you just need to go outside your circle at some point during your activity. And also go through your bug's little circle.

Thanks Pothunter: I know about inaccessible points but this may be the communal golf course we are allowed on anyway. I just don’t like golf courses (Belgian class issues I guess?) but that isn’t really a reason as far as I understand the game. I have reported bugs/gems in truly inaccessible areas (private land)

And Idristhedragon: I’ve set up my circle so the edge is right near my house because I back onto an area I don’t like running in but it’s perfect for putting the bugs there 😀 But when I had my circle in a different country, I have run them out of my circle mid-run, no problem!

I have a gold course which I run/walk/cycle across quite regularly and it is possible to go anywhere, however as this is a rare occurence these days I usually mark any bugs/jewels as inaccessible in those places.

There’s a path through our golf course there are also warning signs about being hit by balls!

I missed a turning on my route today and had to turn back to go through my bug then changed the rest of my route to get home!
