G-G, yeah yours tells the same as mine. I take a screen shot every month and then compare the readings. I've really only been interested since I left my work.

They look great scales, especially at that price. I use the body composition scales at the gym, but would be good to compare results from a set at home, might treat myself. Still on my quest to get my body fat down to 20% but having been injured for a few months I'm miles away from that now as not been able to do much running or gym work. |

Ah ha I've found the history, so when I started recording with these scales my stats were and where I was last week: So not the biggest of changes but all numbers going in the right direction, hoping this spurs me on for more commitment! |

I have just googled visceral fat and over the moon that has come into the acceptable level (it is at the high side of acceptable so more work to be done): Too much of any body fat is bad for your health. But compared to the fat that lies just underneath your skin (subcutaneous fat), the visceral kind is more likely to raise your risk for serious medical issues. Heart disease, Alzheimer’s, type 2 diabetes, stroke, and high cholesterol are some of the conditions that are strongly linked to too much fat in your trunk. Researchers suspect that visceral fat makes more of certain proteins that inflame your body’s tissues and organs and narrow your blood vessels. That can make your blood pressure go up and cause other problems. |

I’m a bit inconsistent about when I weigh myself but have measured a slight increase since last time. Not entirely a surprise as a few meals have been more calorie dense this week. We got chicken breasts and MrS made them into club sandwiches! We also had home made poke bowls and half the quantity of salmon would have been plenty, but it was defrosted and would have been wasted if I didn’t eat it. Still the overall trend is me losing weight, and this is a reminder to do my best to stay on track |

According to the Boditrax system at my gym, my visceral fat has gone from 16 (the beginning of the red zone) to 15 (top of the amber zone). The goal is to get it to 12, or ideally lower. Not sure if those are kg, or just numbers. But anyway - given my actual weight and the total amount of fat I’m carrying, that number is a lot better than it might be! Anyhow - onwards and downwards, with low carbing and exercise contributing to the preferential loss of visceral fat for me. Following on from my mini-rant about goal setting the other day, perhaps I should make my goal to get my visceral fat into the healthy range, and hang the weight? |
