No you won't need one. I only use mine if I make soup or the red cabbage coleslaw.

Like your style Lizzie :-)

I am off on holiday the week after next so will knuckle down and that way I can cook, try out the breakfast that suits etc.

Cooked meat for the omelette - I usually buy the honey roast ham processed stuff but I suppose that’s not what they mean

The 'full-fat' thing is something I had to check too as I've been indoctrinated to think full fat is bad! I prefer skimmed milk in my tea but having full milk in my porridge feels like a real treat ( in years past I've made it with water, which is a pretty joyless way to start the day ;-) )

I was buying almond butter from M&S but our local store has stopped selling it so I get it from Tesco. I made it the first time but it's very faffy so get it in a jar :)

I agree - going from years of low fat / lite foods to eating full fat is a revelation. I really struggled with guilt to start with but soon got over that. As long as you weigh out and measure quantities then it is a good move. Meals look to be too small portions for some recipes and you wonder how that will keep you going to the next meal time, but trust the plan - it works!

It looks a bit like doing the Atkins diet which I did before but it really played havoc with my stomach and gave me awful heartburn. I blame the fact I have no gall bladder hence the reason I’m on omeprazole. Happy to try again though to see if I can kick start some movement plus need to do more than sit on my butt all evening so spending time in the kitchen prepping for the next day might help

I've not done Atkins so can't compare, but I think this is a healthier version due to the limited calories. Having said that, it doesn't suit everyone.

Interestingly LG, I too take omeprazole for awful night-time indigestion - except since I've been following this diet, and have lost some weight, I can now go for days without the omeprazole and the reflux doesn't bother me. I don't go mad with fat - I use olive oil and if the recipe calls for it, butter. I never looked closely at Atkins but I think it pushed animal fats quite hard? The BSD really only excludes refined, starchy carbs and fills you up on veg.
