Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sigh
Hi everyone!

I've just seen a post about someone in Stoke doing a marathon by running 106 laps of a local road. It reminded me that the road I live on is a 1km circle (sort of, actually more of a squashed ellipse), and whether I will ever bother to run 21 laps of it for a half marathon. What puts me off the most is that it could be the difference between winning or losing at WSW that week :-)

Hah, maybe you need to wait until you are in a WSW match that is either
a) one you are likely to win even if you give up a previous 13 of your weekly miles to this, or
b) a lost cause :-)

I colleague at work did a marathon last Sunday by running around the grounds of a local primary school. 50+ laps 🤕

I got fed up running a 5 lap 5K - there's no way I'd run any further on short laps!

Sigh
Well, that's my concern, that I'd just give up, especially running past home every time.

Just been called to unblock the hair filter on the shower drain, back in a bit :-)

(more suitable for the mundane thread!)

Mr GM did that earlier, Sigh :)
I'm not sure that I've got the mental stamina to cope with numerous loops. Actually, I know - I haven't!

I think if I'd got some good music to listen to I'd manage ok.

I was pondering a backyard style run where you do a 4-ish mile loop every hour on the hour. It’s quite hilly here though so careful route planning would be required.

And like Sigh I’m concerned about the impact on WSW :-)

Why do I get to unblock hair filters in this house? I want casual sexism back ;)
