That was fab, worked really well I think guys, thanks. Hope you all enjoyed meeting by video too. Was it extra hassle / work for you Fetch n Katie? If not, is it something we could introduce regularly? Also, is more than 8 people possible, maybe a few dozen, just dropping in, but with only 3 or 4 contributing? My point being a. to keep it to the hour but b. to widen participation? And another lobby for a weekend or evening time.
In terms of tech, you can mute everyone else on the call to reduce background noise (not that there was any prob with background noise. Grandfather clock, wind noise etc. were fab!!)
Thanks again for great contributions from everyone Corrah, 57.5DoP, Trin, Chris, Em (I haven't got to end yet...!)
What a lovely place. Just messaged Corrah to say thanks for her lovely comments on my training. It's things like that, and Nellers kind comment on Trumpet thread, that actually helped me to get stuck back into a bit of activity. Thanks again Fetchies, you're all fab! G
I agree with HappyG that more Fetchies joining in at once added something to the podcast. But guess this makes more work in terms of herding Fetchies into Zoom and editing.
Maybe not something for every week - a monthly thing?
We talked about it, and agreed that it was fun, and that we'd like to do it again at some point. However, it does mean that the process of editing (which involves a listen through, removing any bits we wish we hadn't said; awkward pauses; interruptions etc) would take twice as long with two formats. And there'd be more time spent uploading, and arranging the participants etc. On top of that, a suitable Zoom account is about £15 per month, and I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but I do like trying to keep our costs as low as possible.
So in conclusion, I think we will do this again in the future - I'm just not sure how often.
It was a lovely listen on my walk yesterday. I took you all out to the village to get bread and milk, then off for a wander along the beach. You were all great company.
In defence of zoom, it is a longstanding service aimed at professionals. When it took off in lockdown, they increased the free service. It was never intended as a competitor to skype (with its free but poor quality model). Now Fetch has it all.- top quality AND free. Luv ya.
Just finished listening on my run this morning. Can't believe how quickly it went for a longer-than-usual podcast. Thank you! I'd love to be part of the next one.

Contributors We love getting contributions. Here's how:
1) find somewhere with minimal background noise 2) recording on a smartphone is fine 3) start with "Hello Fetchies, it's..." 4) a couple of minutes is a good length 5) don't worry about ums, aahs and pauses. We can edit them out. 6) email the file to podcast@fetcheveryone.com
