It’s good isn’t it? I still need some time to go through some more stuff. It’s hard while working full-time, but I’m determined to get rid of more stuff!

I chucked some stuff out yesterday and put some more in a huge huge lidded crate in the garage, if none of the stuff in the lidded crate is missed or needed in the next 12 months it'll go. I say 12 months, because I think that'll be how long it is until I attempt the garage again!

Well done :)

I'm pretty good at not keeping stuff (to the point I often regret it a couple of years later!) but I live with three hoarders.

I did declutter the bedroom recently. Since I want to decorate it and carpet it at some point, it'll be less painful.

Also sorted out the kitchen cupboards. Mr Carp buys WAY too many dipping sauces and marinades that we never use.

I've noticed that when I feel anxious (which I do right now because of 'stuff' that will pass) I tend to become very sticky and not want to get rid of anything. So there is also a timing issue to de-cluttering. And, no surprise to anyone here, when I have had a bit of a clear-out I feel so much better anyway!

On which note I think I'll put the timer on 15 minutes and see if I can get anything out of my wardrobe in that time.

I get to be the opposite when I get anxious about the stuff I want to chuck everything out . Probably with exception of the books but still not a good idea

I'm the same N-O. There are times I would gladly throw everything out when I feel anxious. I know I'd regret not going through it, but it can be overwhelming

^^ Yep. My kitchen cupboards are much cleaner now than they have been in a year.

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
