When I had to clear out my spare room, which had become a dumping ground, it was overwhelming and I didn't know where to start. Eventually I decided to do 'just one bag/drawer/shelf' (which also only needed a small amount of time). If that's all you do, fine, but at least it's a start. However doing 'just one' often gets you started then you do more.

That's a good way of looking at it, Meglet. I need to remember to leave clothes for work somewhere accessible until such a time as I can do enough "one bag/drawer/shelf" bits to find anything again :)

Bag of Small Electricals put out for collection in time for recycling day. As so often the case I had no idea what most of it was.

Good luck Nessie, you'll feel great when you've started.

I've been watching on Marie Kondo on Netflix today, she's amazing! It's spurred me on to tackle my clothes again and I love the simplicity of how she categorises her tidying up as it can be so overwhelming.

I've never seen Marie Kondo but y'all are making me think I ought to.

I enjoyed the series too, and it did inspire me to go through my clothes again.
I also like the Minimalists film on Netflix, I am quite minimalist anyway, but I want to sort through everything and get rid of most of it now!

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
