I can't imagine making a quilt out of race tees... sorry, but the fabric is all wrong, surely. You need stiffer fabric that would be awful to run in, to make the best quilts.

Sorry to be a downer. I guess you could but try. I've made quilts out of all sorts, but I'd dread trying to work with so much stretchy fabric.

I heard that lots of people in Eastern Europe can be seen wearing western-Europe race event Ts. They get the shirts thru 2nd hand clothes markets.

I only popped on thread to try to encourage myself to declutter. Wish I had more to report. There is a LARGE bag of stuff going to charity shop next Friday. Have made some modest progress towards letting go of some items; better than no progress!!

Went through my kit drawers and only extracted 2xrunning trousers (1 not worn) and 1xcapri. These are going with some trainers to a club member who's on some secret mission this year and needs stuff to sell at a car boot sale. I think she'll reveal what her plans are at the AGM on Monday.

As a non crafty person I am very impressed with the idea of a quilt from race t-shirts. Though I think I’ll take the advice of donating mine to charity instead. I’ve several club shirts too as I’m onto my third running club which are proving more challenging.

Sorry had to abandon Marie Kondo when she said women shouldn’t wear sweatpants as they weren’t feminine! I listened to it with gritted teeth until then but did find her approach naive.

i love sweatpants!
Jeans look better but feel so restrictive (could be because I'm lardy)

re quilt - occasionally I get fed up with husband snoring and decamp to son's room - single bed light duvet. So quilt will live there and keep me warm! also when feeling ill and sofa surfing it will come out! Mind you since my last day in the classroom I have only had 1 restless night

I don't wear sweatpants because I think they'd make me look chavvy, but the expectation that I should try to "look feminine" would make me reach for my most hobnailed baseball bat.

An older running buddy who has been running for many more years than me suggested I take a photo of any running shirt from a race and then give it away if I had too many. A collage of photos in a clip frame takes up less space.

Couldn't agree more V'rap :-)

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
