If you had parallel leagues of 5 you could do: 1 up, 1 down, middle swaps across. That might really mix it up without being too complicated.

Sorry, that doesn’t read right. What I mean is #1 goes up, #5 goes down and #3 swaps across to the equal parallel division.

Not going to lie, I'll be a little disappointed to be sorted based on my rating for next month's league - I think I played well this month (and punched a little above my weight) to secure 2nd and would have been set for back to back promotions under previously suggested promotion/relegation. But I get that there's an imbalance, and if we're sticking with this structure then it's fair dos.
If we're planning on changing structure for June though, (and I will refer back to my overly complex suggestion for the pyramid [and happy to talk about this separately if it finds favour to clarify and thrash out issues] from the top of this page https://www.fetcheveryone.com/forum/fetch-chess-club-61700/655) then for me, we should stick with what was planned for May rather than a bigger shakeup followed by another big shakeup...
Phew, that's an awful lot of waffle. Sorry. I'll get back in my box now...

What you want is a break from the league to have a good shuffle.
I’ve just done a count looks like about 70 active league players so for easy maths 68/4 = 17 players in 4 leagues A,B,C,D these are made up of one from each current division again easy if every division had 4 players.
Random generator of black/white as you will only play each player once. 16 games.
You then take the player that finishes first in A, B, C, D and put them in div 1 in our new division structure of 17 divisions of 4 teams and it’s all good going forwards.
It’s that or Fetch does his best Judge Dredd impression tells us he is the law and that he does the structure and all we have to do is playing bloody chess.
