Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

CL - the suggestion was made that each team could nominate a charity, and that the winning team would get the donation. I think.

Here are some questions:
Do we want this to be an open event or a fetch event?
How many cars can we get parked at Pitsford?
Does it need to be in profit and for charity?
How many legs? (How long should the event last?)

I've got lots more! :)

Lorraine, it's too far south for me too.

I wonder whether there's scope for a parallel event Up North, given how many active Scottish/Northern Fetchies there are. Carlisle? Glasgow? Newcastle?

Wherever we locate the event will be too far away for many people, so parallel events would be a fab idea. Similar model for each event perhaps.

Every additional will increase the running cost if we licence to insure ourselves but it won't have to be high.

If folk would come, I'd be happy to get involved with the organisation of an event located in northern England/south-west Scotland.

TRA is a tenner. And only £1 to the UKA (though you still have to offer a £2 discount to affiliated runners, it works out better for the organisers.)

Like the idea of parallel events. Same time different place?

Potential answers... Feel free to add (a list maybe)

Do we want this to be an open event or a fetch event?
Nightjar> Fetch event is more low key but we needn't be exclusive.

How many cars can we get parked at Pitsford?
Nightjar> Quite a few. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=NN6+9DG&hl=en&ll=52.318084,-0.896475&spn=0.002384,0.005381&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=10.029165,30.673828&hnear=Brixworth+NN6+9DG,+United+Kingdom&t=h&z=18

Does it need to be in profit and for charity?
Nightjar> Yes if it's going to be a Fetch Charity Handicap Relay

How many legs? (How long should the event last?)
Nightjar> 12 hours :-) Pitsford is open 9am to dusk.

We could, along the lines of the Nike Human Race a few years back, aggregate the times of people running per event, and produce a final league table showing which event "won". Maybe not for some huge shiny trophy, but just to increase competitiveness.

About This Thread

The Mick & Phil half at Draycote was a resounding success and as such there seems to be quite a bit ...
