Sounds interesting! I'd like to help out or run (or both) at whatever parallel event is easiest to get to :)

This sounds great, I have a question:-

For only ever running straight races, what does a Relay actually involve? Is it putting a team together and running one lap of the lake each, taking it in turns until when ever the hours are up or is it running as yourself and going around for as many laps as possible within a certain timeline?

I hope this makes sense to someone. Maybe there is an explanation about this but I couldn't see one and it would be great for runners who haven't done one of these before a better idea of what it's all about.

Thank you for your help :-)

They're good questions Excitable and the answer is we can do what people like the sound of most. There's the Thunderun model - a long event with teams of between 1 and N (where N is perhaps 2, 4 or 6+) and everyone in the team must do at least 1 lap and the winner is the team doing the most laps. Or we do a fixed number of laps overall. Or perhaps each team member must complete a set number of laps.

We had a quick Q about the charity part. What if the winning team (given that we'll be on a slower team!) picks a charity we'd rather not support? I'd rather not donate to a pro-life charity for example...

PM - the idea is for this to be a handicap event so all teams have an equal chance of winning :-)

suppose you look at the charities and decide whether you take part or not. cant tell folk what to donate to . that said I think it unlikely a team will decide on a controversial charity. dates and time allowing im happy to help. may even see if a NE team could be put together.

Whilst I think that this is a great idea. I am however, in agreement with Pestomum. I think maybe picking a charity beforehand may work better.

Thanks Ogee. I think it's important to be clear about cash raised for charity :-)
