Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

I did 10 press ups this morning and a bike ride this afternoon

I’ve also had a pasty and a burger and chips for dinner, not to mention a couple of beers.

Bike ride sounds good and I can't even do one proper press up!

I had one glass of wine last night, we were on a lazy home day. Chilling out. Lovely

Today we're doing a big walk which we are hoping ends with a dip in the Lido at Brightlingsea and then get the bus home. Weathers looking ok for that

Emotionalunbalance, stress and anger can send me to food.. I feel better when it doesn't. It's finding some other way to deal with those

Mandymoo hope better days! Grandkids will keep you occupied I bet!

I ate sensibly yesterday, and can do the same today. One day at a time (in fact one meal at a time!)

I'm currently investigating gyms/classes in an attempt to shake myself up a bit as running on its own isn't enough anymore to keep me fit/strong. I am going to my first Bodypump class tomorrow morning at the local leisure centre - I have Thursday and Friday as annual leave and so thought I'd make the most of the time.

I can avoid alcohol tonight and tomorrow night, although I might have a glass or two on Friday evening.

Paula mac.. I avoided the gym for years, and stuck my nose up in the air firmly saying "I don't need that, running is my thing"

But the menopause arrived... and a weird spell of exhaustion and not being able to run... swimming is the thing that's tempted me back, but also I realise exactly as your saying running isn't just the right balance. I e put a lot of weight in and that also makes running harder... menopause aside since I've been at the gym these last three weeks I've had an awakening and swimming, spin and rowing are all on the agenda. Body pump is great, I've done one class. For me it's good because I just can't really stand doing the weight machines. I've got three I "do"

The weight of me is going to be a slow journey, better way for me this time, but I'm so enjoying the buzz of being able to do all the other stuff. It's as if running had kept my body Bormann and it's got energy to release!

Yesterday's walk was good, All in all about 10miles of walking. Picked up sandwiches from the local co-op, sat at a lovely spot overlooking the estuary fir those then carried along eating fresh blackberries on our route and just enjoying being out on the riverside and taking in the views. It's quite spectacular coastal path. It was a bit overcast for a while and then as we got to Brightlingsea the sun came out so we headed into the Lido had a fab couple of swims and a well earned magnum then got the bus home... ace day

Shattered last night, a couple of glasses of wine, potted up some plants we got earlier in the week and then zonked for an early night at 9pm...

-much less booze than normally on holiday
- water going in well
- keeping up gym routine
- smiling in good doses!

Let us know what you think of it all Paulamc. It's the routine that is the thing to start. I'm still in honeymoon phase but trying not to focus on that as I want to keep it going long term

I managed to get the eating sensibly thing right yesterday and not bonk during an evening run, which was awesome :D

Big changes on the cards in the next few weeks, so it'll be a challenge to make myself take the time to prepare and consume proper food not just skip meals and snack on junk, but I Can!

That's a big part of it... preparation makes things easier

I find coffee makes me crave sugary junk too, so cutting that back helps for me

What foods we all think help us stop the bonk effect?
