Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Dr S found some Emma Bridgewater melamine crockery. Not cheap, but looks nice and it's durable (so far!).

I found a bright yellow whistling kettle. :-)

We've got a picnic bag with plastic plates, metal cutlery, plastic mugs and glasses which we've moved to the van.

I've got a wee camping kettle. Planned to try that at first. I'd imagine a gas kettle is better than electric?

Do people have toasters actually? Hmm... might need toast.

I've always used them folding toasters you stick on top of the stove when camping. They do the job for a few slices ;)

We've got one of those toast thingies and it's never really worked for us .... we sort of end up with crisp white bread that doesn't look like toast. We've tried to use it to warm pies before now :-)

Not having a grill is a major drawback to our van, it's something we wish it had.

I think it depends on how much power your stove has. Seen these as an alternate for one slice than might work:

Just to add. Normally camp in a tent. Currently making a camper out of my newly acquired 2013 wheelchair adapted berlingo.

Fold out bed done - electrics with fridge and lights done - kitchen unit half done ;)
