I might be the proud owner of a camper van when lockdown allows. Or is it a motorhome? Probably a motorhome.

We have been to the beach, but then we live on the coast so that is not unusual - cant wait to get away

Sounds interesting, XB. How will you decide? We went to a motorhome show and several showrooms, turning our noses up at campervans saying “much too small” right up to the moment when we bought a ... campervan.

MrW took ours out for a little drive yesterday, just to give it a run, which we considered as almost essential as it's not good for vehicles to sit for months without being run, is it? He was only out for half an hour but thoroughly enjoyed just driving it again, bless him!

Hi Fetchie van fans. I've only just noticed this thread, so thought I would join in. Similar to Synge, I put down our deposit at the start of March last year. By March 30th the van was delivered, parked up and SORNed. We were thinking that our timing was terrible, but in the end, it saved our sanity as we used the van as our pub for April, May & June before using it properly in the Summer. It saved our Summer too, so in the end, with camper van demand going through the roof last year, it would appear that our timing was perfect. Conversion by Platinum Wave Campers. He's called Ragnar, as like the famous Viking, we also like to travel to new places and meet new people ( although we pass on the raping and pillaging )

Welcome, Reiver - nice van!
We haven't dared drive anywhere in ours, as we're halfway between Dartmoor and the South Devon coast and we feel that this is an area where campervan movements might attract unwelcome attention.
(Local news last week reported police warning people for driving from Torquay to Teignmouth to buy fish and chips (albeit not in a campervan as far as I know!).)

Lovely van Reiver I like the name too.
I feel quite sorry for our van which we only picked up in December, just sitting outside with nowhere to go. We would normally use it to drive at least into neighbouring areas for a long walk or some sunrise photography.

It is frustrating Scribbler, but it will be worth the wait. Try what we did last year - find an online pub quiz, grab a bottle of your favourite tipple and retire to the van for quiz night. Synge, I know what you mean. I collected two bikes yesterday and drove less than 2 miles home, but felt 'guilty' as we had the appearance that we were off on a cycling trip !
