I'd love to do the WHW and want to make it a goal for next year. I'd also be keen to use the van for accommodation, but not sure how I would go about the logistics.

Do you have a non-walking buddy who’d shift the van on. It’s a lovely area to explore and less hassle than having to think about logistics. The last thing you want after a 20 mile day is to faff.

We are staying the weekend at the Totnes CAMC site. Freshly done up, all new facilities, but now with metered electricity. Short walk into town. And short run to parkrun in the morning, which is fortunate.

I’ll be interested to hear what you think of it @Dillthedog My daughter lives in Totnes and we hope to stay at Steamer Quay when we visit her. |

We got our van back today after having the leaky skylight replaced. Fingers crossed that this one is watertight. I'm very impressed with the attention to detail shown by the technicians. I asked them about the cloudy headlight lenses and they've suggested Holts Headlight Restorer so I'm going to give that a go. |

I’ll keep you updated on my plans my neighbours friend did the coast to coast on his own with the campervan he would drive van to the finish point and taxi or bus to the start each day. So I have a task of looking at camping spots along the WHW so we can work out distances. It’s faffy but I’d love to do it with Vinnie van! |

Yeah, walking to the van and having the travel done before you start is definitely the better way round. |

Steamer Quay is a good little site @Eynsham Red . Only just reopened after being refurbished, so everything is brand new. Short walk into town is great as is the parkrun. It has metered electricity, we used about £6 for the weekend for heating, hot water, tele, toaster, kettle etc. We’d definitely stay there again. There is also a car park which had about a dozen vans overnight, costs £10 I think. On park4night, Longmarsh car park. |

Thanks @Dillthedog We’ve always given Steamer Quay a miss in the past as there were no electric pitches and we like too many home comforts to be able to spend a week or more effectively off grid. When we heard that it had been modernised that was a huge plus for us.
