I made a dumb mistake. We ran out of gas last night and the spare bottle is also empty. We had a chilly night, and I’m likely going to write off the contents of the fridge. The van went down to 12 degrees overnight so I was popular I won’t be able to get gas today as we’re in a field waiting for a race this afternoon. Oops. |

Ah a frustrating mistake to make, Cath. I hope you both didn’t suffer too much from the cold and that it hadn’t put Nic off from using the van ever again.

I think we got down to about 12 inside overnight on Friday too, it was just about freezing outside in the morning on Saturday. The heating had decided to ignore the low setting and just kept getting warmer so we turned it off. Am very glad we had gas to put it back on first thing in the morning. Waking up to <10c or so in my tent was normal - I seem to have got a bit softer since we got the van! Looking at gas usage this weekend, I think we'd get about a week out of our set-up - as long as it's not below freezing outside. Do need to find somewhere to fill it up now though *writes gas on todo list* |

I’m hoping Nic saw enough benefit from having the van at the race venue to not put her off. (Although having to be towed out of a muddy rut wasn’t much fun… probably the easiest tenner that chap made, but it was the only note I had) |

Hope the convenience is a winner, Cath Have heard about many folks needing towed out this year. we've been able to find hardstandings, mostly - but I was very nervous after parking up yesterday on ground that wasn't as dry/firm as it looked. |

I wouldn’t usually park on grass but it was a race venue and that’s where the motorhomes were sent. With hindsight I should have just parked in the car park next to the field like a few others did - although it said no overnight parking.
