Ewwwwww not nice. We have just had to order a new leasure battery and a new control unit for the same/solar panel. There is always something to spend the pennies on 😂 |

As I was checking to see if the bike was secure before heading out this morning I saw a solitary sandal sitting on the bike rack where I had left a pair of them to dry yesterday in Seaford before coming home 🤦♂️ I didn’t hold out much hope but decided to retrace my route and found it at the side of the road about 4 miles away! Small win - big smile 😃 and the moral of the story is not to rush through your pre-departure checklist. |

Hello all. I've recently acquired a converted Hyundai i800 - excitedly waiting for the moment we can actually go somewhere 'proper' and stay overnight. I'm sure it's been discussed before, but to save me going back through 100 pages.... Awnings. Not so much the roll out 'canopy' some vans are fitted with, but the tent like ones that stick on the side. Someone I work with described them as 'a divorce in a bag' today which conjured up an image I wasn't expecting, and I'm struggling to erase. Anyone got one they love/ hate? Does the van need to be altered to allow it to be fixed securely? Anyone suffered a divorce after trying to put one up? Are gazebos an option, or just an embarrassment? Is there such a thing as a midge proof awning? (Unlikely) So many questions. Such a newbie. |

Drive away awning. Yes we have..you need a figure of 8 attachment for the van. We have two - a small one for weekends and a bigger one for longer breaks. You can get all sort of quality of drive away awnings, have fun looking |

We have an awning that came with the caravan. There are about 9 panels, and 1,750 poles, but no instructions. One day we will test our marriage by camping in an isolated field and try and figure it out. I think it will make a big difference when we go on longer breaks. |

Thanks Mandymoo. Looks like I need an awning rail on the van itself first. I'm pretty sure I don't have that - but as I'm already on the sofa in my pyjamas and the van is down the street I'll wait until morning to confirm that... Any idea if they are easy to fix yourself or does one pay £££ to get them put on? |
