HowFar?
We did the RSPB Big School Bird Watch today. The results of our hour:

greenfinch 1
siskin 1
jackdaw 2
collared dove 1
goldfinch 12
great tit 2
pied wagtail 1
dunnock 4
sparrow 5
blackbird 2
blue tit 3
robin 2
chaffinch 5
coal tit 2

That's certainly the most goldfinches we have had for the Bird Watch. I think the number of siskins is down on what we have had in the past and chaffinch numbers are down as well, I think.

Fragile Do Not Bend
I thought the call sounded a bit like a herring gull but softer and sort of apologetic :)

HellsBells
we'll do ours tomorrow, but I'm majorly excited as I came a roundabout way home in order to squish a fetchpoint bug. My reward was a waxwing and a redwing, neither of which I'd have seen if I'd gone straight home

Good Watch HowFar? My Hour's watch was the worst in a decade! I think I'll do it again..my garden only gave ten species and a total of only 21 birds. Showers and habitat change just a quarter of a mile away over the last year might have impacted.

The RSPB website is seriously rubbish, can't find my actual details from last year, just the date I did it. Anyway, to the best of my recollection both numbers and variety are seriously down on last year, which is what I suspect anyway. Only thing up is feral pigeons!!!

Sparrows 3
Starlings 4
Great tits 1
Blue tits 2
Robin 1
Blackbirds 2
Collared doves 2
Herring gull 1
Last but not least, feral pigeons 8!!!!!

Herring gull isn't your average 'garden bird' star
