Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
We were treated to a visit from a green woodpecker in our garden, busied himself digging about the lawn, also spotted a tit checking out a nesting box, lots of bird activity in the garden today

That IS a treat Mrs Jigs. No peckers in my garden for many months and never had a Green. Long Tailed Tits every evening just before dark, getting ready for the huddle.

Ahh, LTTs are sweet. Only ever seen a green woodpecker at my parents' in Devon. Couple of greater spotted woodpeckers in my brother in law 's garden round the corner.

Coincidentally I've seen a couple of very noisy 'greens' recently. They are surprisingly large 'peckers

yellowhammers were in the garden today - they usually only visit us when it's very cold (which it isn't of course) - odd?

I've just, rashly, signed up for "My 200 Bird Year" http://www.birdwatching.co.uk/my200/. I think 200 will be a bit of a stretch for me, though.

I don't keep lists but 200 might be possible. It'd be interesting to trawl through a bird book and check

Pretty sure I heard a chiffchaff today.
Starlings busying themselves atround a coupl of nesting sites they usually use on the building opposite. They're also using the seed feeder in the garden at the moment. Coal tits feasting on the huge spillage.
