Six Cormorants on river along my trail run. Decided not to do a GBW this morning because of rain and may keep yesterday's tally unless I watch later today.
Just ten miles from where I live on Thursday..a Red Flanked Bluetail. Twitching heaven!

Fragile Do Not Bend
Just about to do my bird watch hour. On a typical day I could easily see 10 species but of course all the birds have buggered off today.

I'm probably going to end up logging 2 bluetits and a robin.

Had quite a count today for the Birdwatch hour. Struggling to get on to the website though to log them.

Anybody else having problems?

Well, a poor show compared to what I usually see in the garden, I was disappointed not to see one of the GSWs. But that's the way it goes I guess. At least one of the robins entertained me with a lovely long song.

Final count:

Robin 2
Dunnock 2
Blue tit 4
Great tit 1
Wood pigeon 1
Wren 1
Blackbird 1

Female sparrowhawk in the park this morning. She seemed to be out for a mimble rather than hunting.

Huge bright orange flying thing just now. Tentatively identified as a paraglider.

Watford Wobble
I recall one year my birdwatch total was one dunnock. And he appeared in the last five minutes.

Driving back from Margate we spotted numerous buzzard standing on posts surveying the land.

I'm not terribly good at IDing raptors but I think I saw a buzzard and a couple of peregrines while driving this morning.

Great view of a short eared owl this afternoon. It flew down and perched on a snow post by the road, so I stopped the car and it just looked at us. Just a few metres away.
