Were your corvids relatively small and grey-ish rather than black?

Brilliant on getting a bullfinch. Unbelievably I've been sat watching goldfinches and chaffinches in the garden, felt like shouting 'you're late' out the window!

Carrion crows if plain black, rooks if fitted with white beaks. Not really correct but a good guideline: 'If you see one rook it's a crow and if you see a group of crows they will be rooks" ;-)

It went quiet for a bit after a sparrow hawk flew over - not counted as it didn't land - but they all got brave again quite quickly

Brilliant HB, not sure I'd get out and run if I had that many birds coming to my garden!

The sad thing is that most of the time we don't notice them - I often look up out of the window to see what's in the tree, but an hour of concentrated looking shows you how much you miss normally.

The local feral peacocks have just come visiting - glad I didn't have to log and try to explain 6 peacocks!

Saw a buzzard close up on my run yesterday. It was on a fence post and flew off when I drew near. It tried to land on a telegraph pole, missed, and skulked off looking embarrassed 😀
Going back to lapwings - I always think they look like the Nazguls' flying mounts in Lord of the Rings with how their wings appear to move. Beautiful birds.
