Hawfinch is a garden mega
I saw a small flock of waxwing from our landing window in Addingham and what I was reasonably sure was a merlin

I’ve been watching a very persistent cormorant for about 20 minutes chasing eels around the harbour. No joy as yet though I’m not sure if the heavy rain will help or hinder it in its pursuit.

That Hawfinch spot was fantastic! Song Thrush singing today and a Cettis Warbler just about squeezing out its song.

Hawfinch was about six years ago I reckon. Be both happened to be standing by the kitchen window - it landed on the trellis on the fence to the side of the of us, looked at us and then went..... no sight or sound or anything like it since.

Wow! Great spot and photo. Where's that Adrian?
I've just had a Goldcrest (male I think) flitting round a few feet from where I'm sat by the window. I can't recall having one that close to the house before. Also team LTT is now up to eight and still managing to neatly top and tail themselves down the fat ball holder with no aggro. Blue Tits watch and learn! 😂

FF Sovereign Harbour in Eastbourne. I only had my iPhone on me so I was very pleased it was so close.

They're often hard to spot because they'll be at a distance and mixed in with other ducks like Tufties and unless you trawl through checking everyone individually they just blend in and don't get noticed. Tremendous to get such a good close view 😀

The Dunnock foraging under my feeders has just been joined by a Shrew which is a new spot from my window. Big surprise is that so far the Dunnock hasn't tried to shag it! 😂
