I do know a lapwing and we saw ringed plover near Druridge Bay. But I haven’t got decent photos of them. I would love to get a nice lapwing picture. Thanks for the challenge DT

I'm so jealous of the otters. Apparently we have them in the river not too far from me but I've never seen them.
I rounded a corner today in a park and saw a beautiful fox ambling along. When he saw me he slunk off back through the fence to the school playground, then his mate appeared looking equally luxurious.

The otters have brought a bit of magic in town recently, especially given lockdown. They don't seem to mind the audience they are drawing at all.

I’ve seen several otters in freshwater and they’ve all been at dusk. They really are amazing creatures and obviously seen by ‘regular’ wildlife as a serious threat. Birds as well as fish are very aware of one passing through their environment

My wife has informed me that the collective noun for otters is a romp.

There are otters in a local urban park. I'm thinking of getting up really early on Saturday and trying to see them. All the parks around here are v busy at weekends.

Ah, otters! Now there’s a coincidence. While out for a walk by the sea yesterday me and Mrs are pretty sure that’s what we saw about 40-50 yds off the end of the pier. It looked like it was eating a fish. We’ve seen a few seals in recent times but I’ve never heard anyone mention otters. Still a bit bemused, really. Does it sound likely?

oi you, don't know where you are but yes, otters are just as home in coastal waters (often near a mouth of a river) as they are inland.
