The Simon Barnes book is available as an audiobook and the great thing is that there are audio samples of the birds' calls. I don't know of any other book like that. Check out for example storytel.com

Yorkshire Pie
I have a birdsong app which suggested that it could hear a goldfinch and it has finally just made a visit to the bird feeder. Only very briefly but it definitely exists!
