The squirrels have chewed one of my feeders to bits and had a go at one of the others.

I need a way of discouraging them. Or getting a squirrel feeder to distract them.

They've been nibbling some of my other plants after lily-gate the other week too.

We have a squirrel feeder but just ended up with more squirrels. We used to have 2 regulars, now it is more like 4 or 5. At least 3 of them have built a new nest in the tree that overlooks our garden... (we watched them building it last night!)

Don't laugh, it's true I tell you. Our other bird feeders are squirrel proof. The trouble is, the squirrels climb on top of the feeders & do a disco dance on top of them to make the feeders swing about. Thus shaking the seeds to the ground. They then shin down the bird feeder pole & eat the seeds on the ground.
We had the woodpecker visit again this morning. He certainly likes to peck at the bird balls in one of the feeders. Which is the only one the squirrels can't seem to get their greedy claws on.

If they just jumped up and down and shook the seeds loose, I wouldn't mind that - but they've been destroying my bird feeders totally.

Don't quite know what to do.

I don't know how to discourage squirrels

When you find out please let me know, we have at least 4 squirrels that decimate the feeders.

Our squirrels don’t destroy the feeders at least, it’s more about making sure we don’t leave them too full overnight. During the day we can bang on the window of the squirrels are eating too much bird food, it’s the 6am squirrel feeding frenzy which tends to empty them!

Thankfully we have a new type of fat balls which the squirrels don’t seem to like as much as the old ones.
