Look who visited our bird feeders this morning. That's a first. We've had Green Woodpeckers on the lawn, but never seen a Spotted Woodpecker in the garden.

The Scribbler
Amazing to see in your garden 12bar.
Went for a walk on Sunday and saw meadow pippit, a buzzard and a curlew. Think I have a decent pic of the curlew in flight. Will post when I get it off the camera.

Cuckoos seem to be doing well in many places this year: South Pennines, the Dales and the Peak for sure

Fragile Do Not Bend
Need some birdsong help, hopefully I can describe it well enough to be recognisable. Terrain is fields/hedges
It goes peep, peep, peep, peep, (pause) peeeeeep. First 4/5 peeps quick and same note, last one higher and sort of mournful. The last long peep seems to be optional.
I think I saw the bird from a distance, size and colour similar to a greenfinch but it didn’t sound like a greenfinch.

phal I’d say yes. These are strange times do your cuckoo is allowed
I’ve just heard two separate cuckoo within a mile of home including on in the (currently closed off) coach park in Haworth
