um
Hi WS - yes, back in January, was out quite a few days looking for that. But I think my '15-20 run/walk past' didn't match the 5 - 7 hours the more dedicated watchers were spending, and I never saw it. Haven't seen any record of sightings since then, so I assume it was passing through? If AR has spotted it, or similar locally, I'll be back out ... |

Wriggling Snake
I just googled. I remember watching autumn watch or come such and they had a GPS tag on a sea eagle and it popped down as far as Norfolk and back. Perfectly possible but i suppose you have to be lucky.

Belper Mill as well DT plus quite a number of the working quarries in the Peak. Unlike the pigeons they don't seem to get spooked by the blasting. Just learn to use as a time for lunch. When the warning klaxon is sounded one local pair have been observed to leave their nest and fly to a suitable perch. When the blast happens and the pigeons are spooked and in a flap the Peregrines use the opportunity for snaffling an easy lunch. Works every day apparently

Thanks for the Belper update. Presume you you mean the big red-brick former English Sewing mill as you arrive from the north

Thought it must be. I lived in Belper for years and it’s great to hear we have peregrines
