Listened to an enjoyable update on bird life on Islay this morning, based on a radio prog broadcast 30 years ago. News of raptors, and the return of the chough to southern counties of England.

The earliest swallow I have ever seen was At Patrick's Day about 8-10 years back. A good few weeks ahead of it's friends. I love seeing them arrive

A rare visit this afternoon to my feeders by a pair of Willow Tits. Simultaneously I also had a flock of LTTs plus the usual Blue, Great and Coal Tits. The first time I can recall seeing all five together :-)
