I recently saw Night Watch on stage at Progress Theatre in Reading. It was excellent. Very clever staging and the amateur cast did really well.

I'm surprised more Pratchett hasn't made it to stage and screen. It's better character and plot and even dialogue than overall writing, imho. Should make great TV and movies too. G

There have been quite a few, but they tend to be smallish scale. I think I remember reading something about Wyrd Sisters in the national Czech theatre in Prague about ten years ago.

I just googled TV and movies, and there is The Watch on BBC, and movies Hogfather, Color [sic] of Magic, Going Postal and Amazing Maurice? I only knew of Hogfather! G

I found The Watch a bit odd on TV but the others are all great.

I found an animated version of Wyrd Sisters once, but Granny Weatherwax with a strong west country accent was too different to my imagination to cope with.
Lots of people found The Watch hard to handle, including me.

The Watch was more 'inspired by' the books than trying to be a faithful adaptation, and iirc had permission from Rhi and Rob but they didn't go out of their way to promote the final product.
I quite liked it, beating in the above in mind.

Rae has been very polite about The Watch on TV. I found it almost excruciating to watch, and I like to think that I’m open to interpretations, even for things that I know well and love. But some of the decisions about the plot and character, not to mention the special effects, just felt like they had zero connection to the source material.
I think I made it through 2 or 3 episodes and decided not to torture myself any further.
The problem is that the pictures and special effects are so much better in the books!

On the other hand, I love Going Postal.
But I agree with Scribbler, the books are better.
