It is - yes. With slightly more rise & fall than newcomers (well me anyway) expect. I'd pencil that date into my diary but I'm scheduled to be RD at Fell Foot that day so will have to pass. |

I'll plan to be there on that day. I said I'd work one day that weekend and happened to notice yesterday that I'd been pencilled in for the Sunday rather than the Saturday, which means I'm not tied to the parkrun within walking distance of work.

We think it was sort of inevitable. I'm sorry for Honister and Borrowdale generally, traffic will really step up when the thrill-seekers come pouring in. I truly hope this doesn't give credence to the other plans in the offing (Whinlatter etc). |

It's not an area I go to that often, but I'm not sure I've ever heard the mine working. If the mine was constantly working, then I could understand the argument that the addition of a zip-wire would not add to noise level, but my limited experience suggests otherwise |

I was up on Fleetwith Pike just a couple of weeks back and for the first time came across the part of the fell where the heavy industrialised machinery and heavy plant is - the best description I can give is high above Dubs Hut to the NE. It's industrialised alright, but agree that I've never really noticed any noise associated with that.
