Hey steady less slagging off Cleator it's my nearest town technically I use the Coop there often espcially in the winter when it's icy as it can be dodgy getting out of Moor Row depending on how much ice is on the roads. I can manage to slip my way down the cycle track and back however on foot so it's a godsend. They also have one or 'two' takeaways in Cleator

We had a massive power outage here in th Black Mountains. Some people are still without power since Friday. I was away for the biggy: Friday night going into Saturday. Apparently, it had just come on when I came home. It then went off again. Not sure how long for, it was off at Midnight when I went to bed and back on in the morning.

That was lucky Han. Fortunately we do have a log fire and an oil Aga .. so it could be worse. Tedious though.

We had another long outage today. Phone mast also out... It is on a hill in a different area code and usually doesn't go out when we go out. Because of power cuts being the order of the day here, I have a logburner I can cook on, a gas cooker attached to a bottle and a water purification system that takes 5 litres from the stream and filters out all pesticides and other pollutants... I also have 4 oil lamps, as not having light in winter is a bit of a bind... So largely, I just go about my business...

I dug the old hot water bottle out... And my cashmere bed socks. Even though the burner does a good job at heating the house... it was cold in the bedroom...
I can always press my expedition sleeping bag into action if it gets really cold and we keep having intermittent cuts... Quite blustery again... Hope your power comes back on soon Runnyeyes!

Hope you're reconnected soon, runnyeyes, although an aga and a log fire sound pretty good!
Going back to an earlier topic, I've now booked the Grizedale 26 and accommodation. 😀
