FS, last time I visited Keswick I enjoyed running out to the west on the lanes between Swinside / Stair / Braithwaite. All on roads but very quiet and a little lumpy if the scenery doesn’t hold your interest. It’s easy to plot a decent loop out there.

I also liked running out east on Brundholme rd, coming back by Burns / Eleven Trees. That takes you back via the Stone Circle on some more quiet roads.

I did try and run on the paths round Derwentwater one day. That was no issue in road shoes until the flood water reached mid calf and I had to turn back!!

I also was thinking a lap around Derwentwater. You could chuck in a cheeky Catbells and /or Walla Crag rep to spice it up.

I was expecting to walk in with CumbriAndy today :) , but managed to not be quite at the very back, though I wasn't far off) I'm sorry I missed you

Surprised how uncrowded the trails were today, and still a bit warmer than I've been used to for running up here.

If you're up for Walla Crag, my favourite approach is via Cat Gill. Definitely highly recommended.

Someone died going up there a couple of years back. Just saying.

RH, the route of the marathon, apart from Tarn Howes isn’t that much of a honey pot. Both times I’ve done it it’s been fairly quiet in terms of numbers. Probably helps make it a good route.
