I can confirm it ‘‘twas a tad hot for running in the lakes today but beautiful non the less ... sad to see folk camping in massive not at all subtle family tents on the lakes shore coming back into Glenridding towards the end ... camp late pack up early / leave no trace obviously not got thru as they were putting tents down at 1pm 😱😱😥

Lovely morning/early afternoon flagging and signage checking on the first half(ish) of the LT marathon route ahead of tomorrow. Odd thing to note that, outside the village itself, I hardly saw a soul - even Tarn Hows was quiet.
6am start at site then sweeping the other half tomorrow - looks a grand day for it

I'm going down to Keswick in a few weeks, and I have read lots about fell running around there, I was wondering if anyone could suggest some good routes, gonna be there for a couple of days and my long run is about 10 - 13 miles, so no further than that please . I don't have fell shoes just a pair of ASICS nimbuses. Thanks

I think Charlie Sharpe once did the Lakeland 100 wearing Saucony Ride road shoes. As long as you don't go mad off-piste, in summer conditions you could definitely do Skiddaw wearing road shoes and also the Glendeterra valley route to name but two.

Agree with FR. A lot of that's very runnable in road shoes, as is the loop around Derwentwater.
