The problem there is that some of the Far Western (and South Western) fells are perhaps a bit dull. Are we talking about Muncaster and suchlike?

I expect the far southern ones will be rammed, especially if the train is running again

Yeah, West is a bit dull, I admit it...
Here, it has been an absolute nightmare. The Brecon Beacons National Park closed last year in the first lockdown... Because of the mayhem of the whole of Southern England and the Midlands descending on us...
Currently still not allowed to even go on my local (Eastern slope of Hatterall Ridge including the ridge) walks and rides. It has driven me back to running-ish... I am run/walking... So I can at least do a small 5 km loop with reasonable ascent and descent from my door... The alternative: running up and down the lane with everyone else!
Never seen so many people in my life and I used to live in London. Last summer that is, at the moment, Wales is still closed...

Last August when we were in Snowdonia for two weeks, the 'honeypot' peaks were rammed yet we could walk all day and see very few people on the Carneddau fells etc. Infact we did one walk within sight of Tryfan and only met two other people on the tops all day!

I quite like Ulpha and Corney Fells from Black Coombe up towards Eskdale.
I did a SLMM there.
Also the Seatallan area and beyond will be quiet too

I'd say anywhere which is south *and* west of the Old Man will not be busy. And anywhere north of a line through the summit of Skiddaw. Not so sure about the Far Eastern fells; happy to defer to fozzy's knowledge of the area, although I would expect High Street to be popular.

Don't think I've seen another person when on the Howgills. And agree with the others, avoid the honey-pots and there are loads of areas that are free of the crowds. Or do a route that is not well known or well used e.g. Skiddaw Little Man via the south-west arete.

Synge - I'm afraid I bareley know the Far Eastern Fells, but I'm relilably informed you can go to do days up there in the peak season where you don't see anyone, so they'll never be too busy.
Apart from the Kentmere Horseshoe and High Street (and even that's not crazy normally) everything East of Kirkstone and Ullswater is often overlooked.
Unless you're doing Leg 1 of JNC of course.
I've really only done Kentmere H'shoe and some orienteering on Bampton Common myself. I have a half a plan to go and have a play on the Shap fells in the summer.
That and the Howgills.
