We are hopefully up for the 50/100 weekend.

Maybe some midweek time out of school holidays too.
I dread to think what the holidays will be like.

I have spent many lovely evenings including Sundays wandering around the Strid Woods and similar in the Bolton Abbey area. I always think you’re okay in the Lakes etc til about 10am when B&B’ers etc have had their breakfast. Similarly you’re laughing after 6 or 7pm

I am hopeful that a lot of the idiots who discovered the Lakes etc last year were put off. The campers who dumped their gear. The day trippers who shat in people’s gardens. Hopefully those who comeback are more sensible than those who I labelled as pricks and arseholes last year.

Good advice there FF. We're just a bit apprehensive over something so important to us all being a negative experience.

NR I used to go early... I'd be down for breakfast after a 5 hour run/BGR recce by the time the grockles got up! It almost always rained, so I would then haul myself up in the deadly quiet hostel drinking tea, coffee, eating cake, reading, only to go out again when the masses return from the hill around 4 pm...

I'm hoping taht away from the honeypot hills/towns it will be quiet enough to a) enjoy and b) not be a burden. There's a lot of the outlying areas I've rarely been to. And if it comes to the worst there's always the Howgills to get some ascent in the legs :-)

It occurred to me earlier that parts of the North York Moors and the Northumberland fells will also still be quiet too.

As will the right parts of the dales.
