Just popping out of the clag at about 1400ft on the way down from Blencathra last night. Obviously no view at the top but worth it all the same, didn’t see another soul on the fell!

Just seen a picture on someone's strava feed of a DPD van found stuck just over the top of Garburn Pass trying to make his way to Kentmere to help a colleague with a puncture! Have to say I was impressed by how far he appeared to have got 😂😂😂

If you’re arriving at 0001 and off again at 0500 where do you stay in the Keswick region? I think it’s long enough to pitch a quick tent. I suggested Dunmail Raise. I’ve enquired about an honesty box at Thirlspot camping.

And obviously we’ll leave no trace - just a rather drive up night before rather than on day.

Can't help - there was a tent by the bridge past the roundhouse on the track from Molesdale. If I was on my own I'd put the seats down and sleep in my car somewhere

I reckon you could get away with parking and popping a tent up for a few hours on the Caldbeck fells. Similar distance from Keswick in a different direction.

You'd definitely get away with it on Caldbeck Commons. We were up there last weekend and saw loads of camping going on.
