Oh... I can’t wait to see that. I think they’ve engineered it out of stainless steel. I’m a bit sad it’s not traditional.. but a double span was obviously the problem. Shame about your mums prize though. |

For the avoidance of doubt - not that I imagine there was much doubt within this particular thread lakedistrict.gov.uk We wait to see how well respected the message is in some other areas of the wider country |

Sadly Andy in the most part it will be completely ignored. After Dominic Raab went on TV this morning and in response to a direct question said that you could go anywhere you liked in England that message will take precedent in the minds of the majority. We are going to suffer the same problem here the Peak District and the government has effectively pulled the rug out from under the Police etc, when it comes to trying control the inevitable influx of visitors.

Let's hope everyone goes back to work on Wednesday then, so they can't travel! Has there been any comment on why Cumbria has such a high infection rate? I know that Carlisle was hit early when a school group returned from a ski trip (I won't pass on what daughter overheard in her workplace from someone who was supposed to be self-isolating when one school closed...) But is there a known link from say second homeowners or travellers or any other explanation? |

I'd been wondering the same Flanker, particularly as rural Derbyshire has been relatively lightly hit (at least so far) and you would have thought there were many similar characteristics?

Text from the Government Plan released today: "People may drive to outdoor open spaces irrespective of distance, so long as they respect social distancing guidance while they are there, because this does not involve contact with people outside your household." Not sure this is going to end well in places like the Lake District.... |
