Haha. I could fully recommend L'Enclume. Though as long as you've got the credit card to go with it.

C and I went there for our (belated) 30th wedding anniversary. I can’t imagine I’ll ever have a more expensive meal in my life - but we knew what we were letting ourselves in for and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Zeffirellis is fantastic. We've been to Lucy's a few times but not recently as the last time we went we felt it wasn't as good as it had been - but that was quite a while ago so there may well have been changes. For a pub meal and some interesting beers then we also loved the Watermill at Ings.

There’s The Old Stamp House too - not l’Enclume (we started our honeymoon there and my god it was amazing) which is also Michelin starred in Ambleside…. But one star so won’t be as astronomical is they fancy a treat. They also own the restaurant that is grey and orange behind the old bank where Bilbo’s used to be. Friends have been to the Old Stamp House and say it’s excellent…
