beebop/Badger - enjoy the run I'd encourage you find me and say hello either tomorrow when you register or sometime on Sunday but I'm not sure where I'm going to be. Tomorrow is supposed to be out & about course marking while I'm starting at 6am Sunday in the car park - not entirely sure how my dodgy hip/back is going to stand up to it all but there's only one way to find out. |

Mandy : ditto chippie - but last time we were there (2 years ago) we ate in The Bank tavern quite a few times - and liked it. banktavern.co.uk But you may want to decide and book - most places get pretty full on Saturdays. Can't comment on the gin ... more interested in the beer. |

Re: The Newfield at Seathwaite - that will be our local (about a mile walk). Last year we popped in near the end of our walk, but already had something planned for our evening meal, so decided to come back later in the week to eat. The evening we went back it was curry night with no alternatives Apart from that, the usual menu looked good and agree about being a traditional pub. Can also recommend Blacksmith Arms at Broughton Mills |

I'm sure Morrel's will have gin. morrels.co.uk (Haven't been there for a while. Living close enough to Keswick to go home for your tea has disadvantages.) |

For pizza, I prefer Woodstone's to Casa Bella (despite my daughter having worked in the latter for a year before going to university) but it's maybe not fancy enough for a birthday meal.

I’ll ask any likely candidates if they’re Andy, but if I don’t see you, thank you for marshalling and I hope your back doesn’t object. If you see anyone yawning a lot, that could be me. If I remember, I should have a fetch buff on my wrist, although looks as I won’t need it to squeeze water over my head.
