Excellent trek - quite a few feet of ascent there too, I should think.

Thank you, was good fun. Fantastic weather for the first 2 days, then clouded up on the Saturday, which added to the underwhelming nature of the central fells. Yes there was a lot of climbing. I'm waiting for the gpx files for each day to see just how many feet there was.

Nice bagging there MM 🙂
Re Shap Wells again. I remember very tame red squirrels in the grounds, great place to see them.

Yes - I saw a couple, but I don't need to go to the Lakes for red squirrels - we have them at home

very nice bagging there MrMole - did you Garmin/OS/strava or otherwise the route by any chance?
not impressed by the weather forecast for the latter end of the week - I know we said it's very dry, but I fancied a couple of dry days/nights

We had a lovely time in Keswick on Thursday and walking about Derwentwater on Friday - the weather was perfect. About 18 miles in all.

RH, Yeah I didn't track the route but my mate/colleague did. I haven't been back in the office yet to get the files from him, but will upload when I can. Haven't worked out how many conquercise zones I'll get, but hoping for a few as well.
We stayed in the Grasmere YHA on Friday and there were signs in the grounds saying watch out for the red squirrels.
