I'm up and down with tiredness - my knees and hamstrings are the chattiest need so far today.

Was sorry not to contribute more to this thread but happy to have taken part in such a crazy and fantastic event! Got home at about 1230 on Sunday morning, after being asked to get butter on the way home (!) and then losing one pat on the train somehow. Fell asleep in quite a shallow bath, got into bed and then 15 minutes later my son woke up with a terrible cough necessitating a call to the ambulance. All OK now, but wasn't really thinking very straight when it happened! Pretty sore yesterday and today but think the poles definitely helped a lot (First time using them for an ultra and won't ever do one without them now, will start using them earlier in the race too). Also booked a quick sports massage yesterday as well which I think does help too. |

Wow Ed to deal with your son so soon after getting home exhausted, just relieved he is ok. Good call on the sports massage! And huge congratulations on the Pairs Win!!! impressive. I also used poles for the first time in an event (can't call it a race haha) and they helped so much so yes a bit of a convert here, just need to practice more with them. We are all looking to go back next year, including the friend who had to drop out which meant Paul had the place. We are definitely going to look for a different route. The A34 was just awful and Cannock Chase so dangerous and was the downfall of our Gold attempt. |

Hoping the team are on it I’ll be in the air on route to Hong Kong! Not overly stressed as there was so many transfers available in October.

I'll be running loops at the Copthorne races already... places tend to come up for sale in the FB group, so maybe I will have to go that route.

I told the boy that entries open later on this week. He said "no comment" Their Fallout race in March looks good too. Same basic idea (start in one spot, get as far away as you can), but there's a 'sweep circle' representing a growing radiation leak: beyondmarathon.com |

I looked at that but I think the time is a bit spicy for me to get to the 'end'
