Great idea Muttley. I turned off my beloved heated towel rail when we first went into the energy cost crisis. I so miss it and will put it on tomorrow so heated towel for my post run bath.

We're usually running off the house battery in the morning (having charged it overnight) so our normal grid use then is minimal. I'll charge the battery and the car 7-9am and have the heating on (We're all electric). Should be useful

Was late waking up for my free electricity from 7-9am and then had an email to say more free from 9am -12pm.

I've currently got two towel rails on the go and the immersion heater. I did have the lounge heater on briefly but switched it off as I'm already perspiring. The smart meter is going berserk ...

Muttley - how reckless, must feel good though 🤣
I forgot to put the towel rail on. Washing machine is doing a 3 hour wash for a big load of whites 😀 Don't need to worry about the third hour as it's the heating of the water that uses a fair amount of energy and that's done early in the cycle.

Used 27kWh: charging car and battery, the immersion heater and the heating (air to air ashp)
