2nd place ran splits of 64:30 / 73:02. That’s probably what we expected to happen to Chepngetich too, isn’t it?

There are so many astonishing things about that run. To finish 10th overall, to win the women’s race by over 7 mins, the break the new WR by nearly 2 mins.

I think there’ll be a very lukewarm reception by a portion of the athletics world which is all very sad. In fact, I see it’s already started.

It is a performance that is pretty astonishing. Even non cynic me raises an eyebrow at that level of improvement. But I'm still on the accepting side of things.

She’s essentially just ran her 10k PB four times over!

Her 10km PB is representative if that's the case given her HM PB. It's still crazy based on that given she was 14 secs slower than that at half way. Both those distances aren't run aren't run at limits often. PB is from 2021 for the HM for example and there's no reason to think she hasn't improved.

I won't be vouching for any runner but there's no suspicion of her over other runners I've seen at this time.
