Ruth Chepngetich and Satume Kebede are on 2:07 pace at Chicago. Very early days, but Jo Pavey on commentary is obviously wondering if it’s too quick!

This article was mentioned on the coverage about shoe technology impacting marathon times. Hopefully this will work - it’s from NY Times, but hopefully without the pay wall.

They asked for 65:30 pace apparently so that's way too fast if confirmed. I don't think anyone expects them to run 2:07 given that would mean they'd run the second fastest HM all time twice.

It’s on YouTube. Search Chicago marathon 2024 and it pops up first

2:08:04 pace at 15k. They think they've slowed in this 4th 5k, otherwise 1:04:02 at halfway would be equal third fastest HM all time by Ruth Chepngetich herself

1:04:16 at halfway so 14 secs slower than her PB!

Fastest time for a Half marathon this year they were saying. I don’t know what to think.
